I think part of the reason why people might complain over spawn figures but not GI Joes and so forth is that the spawn figures aren't really cartoony. ghost rider's flaming skull head, the he-men figures and such..all look slightly more child oriented than spawn. let's face it..spawn is not geared towards kids, for all that their figures are in the childrens toy section. they look "darker", more "evil" than the villians and monsters of other toy lines. they're also more realistic looking.
I do think that many people are way too uptight about the figures being sold at walmart. kids aren't as easily frightened as a lot of people think, and they won't be scarred for life about seeing a skull or a gun unless mommy and daddy raise a huge fuss and make them think it's something that will damage them. you can shelter your kids and raise them just fine, but shelter them too much and you're doing more harm than good.

ha! True, Meg. Funny that even Twitch's guns were "censored" for the Wally version, yet as you said, looking the gun related figures along the rest of the shelves. And Skeletor's face and Ghost Rider's flaming skull head are ok, yet Raven's more subtle skull face isn't?
I lived in a different town back in college, and the TRU employees were collectors that told me they always had to fight to get certain things in stock. They won the battle for the Alice Cooper figure, but N2 Matrix figures were a no-no supposedly because of the whole black-trenchcoat Columbine thing.
I can understand not wanting to stock Tortured Souls, but people will find any little thing to gripe about. Look how easily vibrating Harry Potter "pleasure" broomsticks made it to shelves though!

It is funny.
I remember those Harry Potter broom sticks! But for some reason I kept seeing girls aged 14-18 buying more of those than the younger kids! [img]wink.gif[/img]
